Supporting Families in Foundation Stage
Supporting the families of our youngest children is of utmost importance to us. Here at Arbourthorne Community Primary School, we have experienced colleagues with a wealth of expertise in Early Childhood care and education who are passionate about getting it right from the start. Our onsite Community hub - 'Red Robin House', is carefully timetabled to provide support and parenting programmes to the families of our Foundation Stage children. These are delivered in a variety of ways ranging from weekly coffee mornings, tailored parenting skills programs and planned activity sessions involving parents/carers and their child. Some of the activity sessions we have recently offered have included an Italian cooking morning, Christmas wreath making, parent and child walk and talks in the local area and a variety of craft sessions. We also invite professionals in to join us bringing vital information for families with the aim of supporting you with everyday life issues such as reducing heating and energy bills and making savings on food bills. Whatever the focus, the aim remains the same - getting it right for our early years children from the very start!
Foundation Stage coffee mornings run every Monday from 8:30am with Emma Plummer (Assistant Headteacher for Foundation Stage) and Michelle Keens (Pupil Support Officer).
